Fueling up: Nozzle holder

What do you guys think of this idea? A friend of mine made some and gave me one. I tried it out today and it worked surprisingly well.

  • What does it do?
  • Where do you keep it when not in use?

It holds back the vapor snout part of the gas pump. On a motorcycle I think it's annoying because 1) it has to be held all the way back for the pump to run and 2) I can't see how full the tank is if I push it in enough to let the pump run. Plus I found when pushing it in enough the end of the nozzle was scratching the inside of the plastic gas tank.

I just pull up the vapor part and slide it on the filler snout right past the detent and it holds it back.

It's thin, I just stuck it in my back pocket. I guess I could put it in my backpack or jacket.

Got it! They don't have those on pumps back east yet, or not where I am from

+1 It sucks that it has to be a two hand operation, but even with the older style nozzle, the top off was two handed to control the pour and not make a mess. It takes but a moment to fill my 5.5gal tank. How long does it take to fill a Monster or SBK? Just sayin'.

Have a good one.

I see.. looks like it was already done. I just thought I'd throw up a few photos since I thought it was clever.

FWIW, it's only the last gal. of gas that won't dispense when using the standard nozzle. It's not like you can't pump gas.

Tell your friend to design an oval one that doubles as a sidestand pad.
