John Hopkins signs with Kawasaki for 2008
I've read that Hopkins has signed a deal with Kawasaki for serious money and that the announcement will be made this weekend. Aledgedly he told Suzuki yesterday about his move from Suzuki and they (Paul Denning) has revealed that Suzuki have had comms with Marco Melandri and Alex De Angelis as possible replacements for Hopkins as Vermeulen's team mate next year. Evidently they (Kawasaki) were hoping to sign both Hopkins and Capirossi..... Who would that leave to partner with Stoner on the Ducati if "Capirex" goes?? Edwards.... I hope so.

Hell Chuckracer, I could tell you the source of this info, but I'd have to kill you after and that goes against my gentle nature. Let's see what happens this weekend, but I believe my source is reliable and I know that Hopper is expensive and that Kawasaki are prepared to pay big time. Roll on this weekend........

Sorry...found it on Crash.net...whoops! There goes your source!
Well...IF this is true, and remeber, a: it's early days for Silly Season, and b; it's Crash.Net...kinda know for fanning whatever "rumour mill" stories they can get their hands on, then I'd guess Hopper has come to terms with the fact that's he's never gonna be President, so he might as well grab all the cash he possibly can in his short, remaining years in MotoGP.

Soup is reporting it is a letter of intent which doesn't mean much since Hayden signed a letter of intent with yamaha.

Sorry for that donaldDuc996. Got so excited didn't even look before posting!! I'll take the punishment for that. Now I'm confused though as to where to post this bit of info. Seems Yamaha and Jorge are looking tight - one hiccup in the way is that Rossi not too keen on Jorge and sharing garage with him, but seems Yamaha may just do the deal anyway. Edwards then is without a ride?? There's talk of him going to WSBK on a Ducati or depending on Capirossi move to Kawasaki (Melandri to join Stoner), possibly to join Hopper on the green beast???
