Should be a good meeting
Besides Troy Bayliss, the Cudlin brothers, Damian & Alex are riding, along with AMA Flat Track Rookie Of The Year, Michael Kirkness ( #387 Rubberman).
Taree was always the first open Dirt Track meeting of the year, held in conjunction with the Taree Aquatic Festival on the Australia Day long weekend.
It used to pour rain almost every year, which might not have bothered the boating people, but usually stuffed the bike racing.
Old Bar is an oiled surface track ,,,,,, and water and oil DON'T mix

He only managed third wasn't riding a Duck.
Did you also here him say in the interview, that he was busy testing for Ducati?

No, I didn't hear that, as in Tamworth we only get the North-West NSW feed on our local news, but my partner lives at Port Macquarie, and she told me that she heard it.
I've since spoken with some mates who were at the meeting, and they spoke with Troy.
His new venture ,,,, "The Troy Bayliss Experience" is going OK, but not sufficiently so to sustain him fulltime.
Ducati would be foolish not to utilise his talents to whatever extent they can.
