Checa Says "It's The Tires"

Soup :: Checa Points Finger at Tires As Key to Ducati's MotoGP Woes :: 01-04-2012

"The issue at Ducati isn't the chassis; they changed it four times, and the result was always the same. The problem is the tires."

Interesting idea when reading the article, except the other teams aren't having the same issues, so it would seem to come back to Ducati again no?

Tires are becoming an increasingly hot subject...

Here's Capirossi's 2 cents:

I think Bridgestone should develop a tire that can't last the whole race. The 1000's don't need as much grip. Make a softer broad-spectrum tire and let us see the machines and the riders do the rest.

I was surprised reading about the serial number issues in that article Matt. Seems like there is some room for improvement in the tire area. I like this thread, very interesting.

i think Checa comes to this forum, lol. I remember the topic of tires being brought up in numerous threads here, more specifically the ducati's decreasing performance since '07 has been directly related to the tire spec changing once Michelin dropped out.

Let's go one step further, make the tyres only last just over 1/3 race distance, make compulsory use of two different compounds per race and
create pit stops same as the IOM and F1

F1 is far more interesting now with the compulsory pit stops.

Unfortunately F1 stopped being interesting shortly after Senna passed away which was a long time ago now. I don't agree with your proposal davy-j.
