His wife will divorce him if he makes a comeback.
I would love to see him back on the Ducati!

I was told that Kim was OK with Troy coming back to europe for ONE LAST CHAMPIONSHIP so he can beat Foggy's record. The reason why she wanted him to stop was to spend time with the kids. The kids are a bit older now...

I think he's just promoting the new 1199...
On facebook he said he saw the finished product in person and called it a "red beast". He said he wanted to take some pics to upload but if he did he might wake up the next morning with a horse's head in his bed
That aside, if Troy comes back to race one more season in WSBK I'm going to go absolutely nuts!!! Man how cool would that be?

Retired racers should stay that way ,,,,, RETIRED.
Have seen too many guys make a belated comeback ,,,, and paid a high price for doing it ,,, a few paid the ultimate price.
They retired for a reason ,,,,, Often old age, with the bottomline usually being that "the fire had gone out" ,,,, or injuries.
It only takes one season away from it to lose touch.
A few seasons away, and it just doesn't happen anymore.
I retired after 20 years of competition. Sat out 5 years, then made the comeback in Classic racing.
I had a LOT of fun, but theres a BIG difference between mainstream top level racing, and having a bit of fun pottering around amongst the other old farts.
Two years ago I did a track day at Sydney's Eastern Creek. First session felt "strange" as I reorientated. Second session was better. Third session was FANTASTIC. Fourth session I pushed harder, and made a few mistakes. Fifth session ,,,, I pushed even harder, and made rookie level mistakes, including 2 total miscues that saw me take to the grass.
Thank goodness for the lunch break. Gave me time to sit and think.
I didn't go back out after lunch, and no intention of ever venturing onto a race track again.
During the lunch break I reflected on the reasons why I'd retired when I did ,,,,, and the only thing that had changed was that I was now 10 years older than when the reasons were strong enough to retire in the first place.
I'm no Troy Bayliss, but then the Troy Bayliss of today isn't the same Troy Bayliss of 2008.
I sincerely hope the forethcoming announcement he alluded to is something to do with a new model of Ducati motorcycle, and NOTHING to do with him racing it.

It's been raised that at 32, Rossi is in the "twilight years"
Bayliss is 10 years older, and been retired for 3 seasons.
Not a good combination for contemplating a full on, competitive comeback.
