So - what material is the new chassis?
And is the engine different? There's one shot that makes it look like there is an absolutely mile of room between the front of the engine/fairing and the front wheel.

Geez Mongo, I barely opened this section and you are posting.
I think I might have to give you a new custom user title.

Let me know if you like it.
I can change it back if you wish.

I think it is still carbon. I think it is still the carbon airbox. It looks like they moved the front wheel forward a bit, which may be an optical illusion due to the angle of the pic, but if you look at the swingarm, the axle is moved all the way forward (or pretty close to it). I suspect they may have re-designed the airbox to have a longer steering stem section which would allow greater range of adjustment in terms of engine placement. There may also be a bit of allowance for up and down movement of the engine as well.

The pic looks like a twin spar, and the blue part of the drawing is the rear subframe.
All I'm gonna say is that if Rossi is within .7 seconds of the Honda liter bike off the bat, and 1.3 seconds faster than the GP11.1, then whatever it is it's working.
I think the rumors are true and FTR built Ducati a chassis to their specifications... just like Pierobon used to build the trellis frames for them.
It's also interesting that Rossi fell on the 3rd lap of his first outing on the exit of the corner. Haven't seen that in a while...

I am seeing the same thing you are Matt.
My question is, how does the rear section add front stability?
Move the rider forward?
And twin spars, hmmm, back to being like everyone else.
Is the trellis frame obsolete now?
I would think the geometry, engine position, etc would be more at hand than the rear subframe....at least for the issues making the Duc non-competitive.
