I was excited when I heard he was with Pramac Ducati this year.
It's a shame that Ducati could not give him a competitive bike this year to make it 100 podiums. I guess it's for the best, since he has been running near last or DNF all season.

Sad to see him go out this way, but best of luck to him in his future endeavors.

Well he's had a long career at this level of motorcycle racing which is a great achievement. It was a shame he got injured in 2006 because he may have been able to add a MotoGP championship to his mantle. He was looking good that year and probably would at least have his 100 podiums if it wasn't for that crash. Damn you Giber! He did well for the Ducati factory team during his time their. I hope he makes it through to the end of the season without any more injuries and enjoys his retirement.

Hell Ducati can't even get a competitive bike to Rossi or Hayden.....
He has been fighting for last or DNFing since last season....is retirement is long overdue IMO.

It's a shame that the newer race fans never got to see Loris ride when he was in his prime. The guy was once a serious contender and held his own with many great riders. I wish he had gone out in a better way with a more competitive bike underneath him.

The one thing I am looking forward to when he retires is you NSP not saturating these race forum threads with your constant disdain for his presence in MotoGP. I really look forward to that because those continual posts of yours were becoming increasingly irksome.

Capirossi’s best chance for a title occurred in 2006 on the Ducati Desmosedici GP6. After the first 6 rounds he was leading the championship with a win, two seconds and a third placing. Sete Gibernau caused a massive turn one pile up that knocked Loris out and set him back for several rounds but he returned to race winning form. That year he won 3 times, more often than title winner Nicky Hayden but ultimately he finished third, 23 points behind the American.

what is your problem??? I did not do anything mean or call him names.
I never wished for him to have a crappy last few years.....but I did discuss the facts of his racing with you in great detail (and you sure did bash Hayden often during those discussions). I dont think it is good for the sport when a rider is constantly at the back or not even a part of the race....therefore I dont get personnal satisfaction from his last 4 seasons.
You want to talk about saturating race forums threads with "constant disdain"??....check out every post about Stoner or Rossi this entire season!! It is a constant bitch session knocking them for either being a pussy/whiner or to old/scared to ride to the limit. I dont see you confronting those people when that happens.
