Holy shit, Stoner almost hit a gofer!!! He also had a huge moment, saved it on his knee as he did his usual "stoner special" one lap special and put himself on top.

Spies looks very strong, he and Lorenzo led for most of the session, though Spies wound up in 2nd place.

Pedrosa pushed hard and wound up third over-all.

Yes I saw it. I heard the gofer was paid off by Ducati to try and take out the front end of his Honda. Ducati knows first hand it's the only way to slow Stoner down. Good thing Stoner had the skills to ride around little bastard.

I think the lap record is getting broken this weekend. Once more rubber get's laid down they'll start picking up a lot more speed. Spies for the victory!!!

A gofer! Who/what was the gofer gofing for? Musta been in the pits as there shouldn't be anything on the track to send an employee out to pick up. And doesn't the pit lane have a speed limit? OH! a Gopher! Well they have their own agendas don't they?

Wow. Excellent varmint avoidance maneuver by Stoner. I didn't know gofers were that big, it was quite a size. It almost looked as if it did it on purpose as it ran out then laid down in front of Stoner. I'm glad neither were injured.

Stoner was pushing hard late in that second session, and it wasn't just one hot lap like Pedrosa. Without the gofer incident and that moment he had, he would have strung together several laps in the 1.40's I think.
Casey has never done well at Indy so I reckon he's doing OK considering. Plus we know Stoner doesn't have to do exceedingly well in practice to win races.

I expect the Yamaha's to be strong, because they always are at Indy, plus they're running the new engine this round. Spies did well there last year and is looking good so far.
He'll do well and could quite possibly get his second win for the season in front of his home crowd. I'm pretty sure he'll at least end up on the podium.

The track's a bit of a disaster though being so slippery. Is this the first time there's been racing on it since the resurfacing?
As Stoner said, they have to wait for the track to come to them, because it's impossible to work on set up with the track changing every session as more rubber gets laid down.

There is a golf course on the grounds of the track. A coincidence, I think not!
