We've all seen the data on Fukushima, and apparently you'll injest more radiation by eating a bunch of bananas....
That said, I also saw the footage of those reactors freakin blowing up. The same guys who were saying everything was under control in the beginning are now saying there's no radiation....
I personally wouldn't be keen on going anywhere near Fukushima without a damned good reason.

He makes somewhere near $40million a year, he can afford to be picky.

Not very many of the riders WANT to go to Japan. There is more then one reason not to go. The excuse about the radiation is stupid. I thought it was funny when Rossi said he was scared of the potential for earthquakes. I mean jesus, they were just in California, the earthquake capitol of the US!

If these guys are worried about having kids later, go make a donation and keep it in the freezer. I think they'll all end up going in the end. Rossi has nothing to lose if he doesn't go, he's got no chance for the championship. But if either Jorge or Casey goes, the other will go.

Yep, and there are points battles going on right on down the grid that are just as important to those riders...in the end, they'll all go.

Frankly the objections of the riders are embarrassing in their ignorance but deeply insulting concerning who most of them work for. Rossi should go and hope that Casey and Jorge don't so he cam get on the podium again!

I think this is one of Rossi'e mind games. Rossi didn't say anything until Casey backed off from his stance, now Rossi is saying, Nah, I won't go? There is an end game there, maybe keep Stoner on his heels about going, keep the media focused on Stoner's refusal to go as a distraction... Somethings up.
In the end they will all be there or they won't next year, of this I have little doubt.

really....and how many 6.0+ earthquakes have been in California this year??
"Japan experienced over 900 aftershocks since the earthquake, with about 60 registering over magnitude 6.0 Mw and at least three over 7.0 Mw. A magnitude 7.7 Mw and a 7.9 Mw quake occurred on March 11[66] and the third one struck offshore on 7 April with a disputed magnitude. Its epicenter was underwater, 66 km (41 mi) off the coast of Sendai. The Japan Meteorological Agency assigned a magnitude of 7.4 MJMA, while the U.S. Geological Survey lowered it to 7.1 Mw.[67] At least four people were killed, and electricity was cut off across much of northern Japan including the loss of external power to Higashidori Nuclear Power Plant and Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant.[68][69][70] Four days later on April 11, another strong magnitude 6.6 Mw aftershock struck Fukushima, causing additional damage and killing a total of three people.[71][72]
As of 3 June 2011 aftershocks continued; a regularly updated map showing all shocks of magnitude 4.5 and above near or off the east coast of Honshu in the last seven days[73] showed over 20 events. By 8 June[update] shocks in the past week had dropped to 13.".....from wikipedia
I would not want to go to Japan for a race right now....plus why do you really care?? Rossi is fighting for mid pack on a bike that cant get near the front. And if Lorenzo/Stoner dont race and Rossi does....he will just get crapped on if he does get a podium.
Also, I dont really trust the government reports or the independent report from Dorna/IFM.....they both have money as their driving force to have the race vs the well being of people. The Soviet Union also said Chernobyl had nothing to worry about....and we saw how that turned out. I have no issue with someone not trusting information.
