RIP #9 Gary Nixon

We lost one the good guys on August 5Th. RIP

RIP Gary.

I was with him at Laguna for a while. He fell out of a tree recently and damaged his hip, he was in a lot of pain during Laguna, but he showed up anyway. I've hung with him a lot as the producer I work with is best friends with him and his family, so I've spent some good time with him. Gary was a great guy, liked to party a lot and did every single drug known to man when he was younger and it caught up with him sadly.

Last week when he went into the hospital, we knew he wouldn't be getting out. We tried to get through to Gary, but it was almost impossible. Roberts did briefly and said his good bye's, but we missed the opportunity, he died overnight. We found out by calling the hospital in the morning to say hi and finding out he had passed away.

Great guy, we will miss him greatly.

My uncle did a fair amount of racing with Gary and the other guys from the late 60's to the early 80's. Oh yah and partying it up with tham as well.

I Met Gary at the MidAtlantic Motorcycle Show in Baltimore back in 2006 he was a great guy and funny as hell! And yes he loved to party still! Sorry to see him go so soon...

RIP Gary. I watched you race when I first started to ride back in my teens in the late 60's. You were an inspiration to us all. Condolences to your family.

Gary- ride fast and win the races wherever you are. Back in the 70's, I read about your talent and speed.

I figure that you are already havin' a party in the afterlife. Have one on me.
