DMS @ Indy?
I got an email from Ducati offering 3 day passes to motogp at Indy. They also specified it was access to Ducai Island. What exactly is considered Ducati Island at an event? Is it a separate section that you have to have a pass to get into?
My next question is if its something better then a standard ticket, is there a group buy anyones aware of for this 3day pass+ducati island at a discounted rate? The email showed $125 for 3 day pass. If you just buy a standard ticket through IMS itself its also $125. I am also currently planning on gettin a weekend pass with another forum that is $95 (at discount rate) which includes a H section seat all weekend.
Any details or info is appreciated

It is a place to park your bikes, anyone who owns a Duc and can prove it, gets in for free.
The seats are shit in my opinion.

Well there is their cafe area, coffee and I think food and only people with the Duacti Island pass can get in there. If your not riding your bike there isn't any real reason to get the Island ticket. Personlly I get the 3 day general admission ticket so I can walk around and I sit on the grass mounds. After getting tickets in the stands and being stuck next to someone the whole time isn't for me. Do some checking but somewhere I read where you can get a 3 day pass for like $106. I can't remember where I saw it at, some reason I want to say I saw it on Speedtv.com. I look and see if I can find it and send the info to you. But if you get just get the general admisssion ticket you can still get into Ducati Island. Here check out this!

Yeah, Ducati Island is free for you and one guest as long as you have your current registration. I would would agree with f1indy, get the general admission pass for $60 and sit on a mound with a chair and some cold beer!
We are thinking this year of putting up the block Michigan M flag as well as the Ducati Corse flag, so if you see it stop by and have a cold one.

Hey that sounds like a great idea. Better yet, create your own little Ducati Island. Get some other guys to help out with some banners or flags around one of the mounds.

Ok, general admission sounds ok to me. But from a handful of guys (who also happen to be who im getting the tickets from) said its worth having the grandstand seat. We have "the best" seats as far as grandstand goes. As you can see from the map, we have a good view of the finish line, the peak of the straightaway, and the best view of the first set of corners. As far as being next to people I dont like, eh who knows, its a bunch of sport touring guys so I should be ok. Plus being a 6 hour ride for us, a lawn chair wont fit in my pannier very easily http://indymotorspeedway.com/500maps.html
Is the food at Duc Caffe free to those with a Duc Island pass? If the food is free, I can make up for that extra $35 they charge, im not paying $35 to basically just have access to a separate food stand and a tshirt. My group priced ticket for 3 days + Grandstand H is $95
And I thinnnnk I have my current registration for my Duc. I'll have to go check.
And I will look for the flag combo, were hoping to get a hotel and only ride the day of the free lap so we can just take a cab and drink the rest of the weekend.

Ok, I just talked to a rep at Indy, and he said you have a private Grandstand on the infield (at turns 1,2 and 3ish) and the Ducati Caffe is right there on site. he also said the Ducati Caffe is complimentary to pass holders, he said as far as he knows, the food they have is small snacks. Pretzels, chips, bar nuts, fruit etc... If its anything remotely consubable as a meal, im all for getting the Duc Island pass. Avoiding 2 meals at Indy will be skimming the $30 extra id be paying for the Duc pass. So it may be worth it.
Anyone know of an extra special group buy for the Duc Island passes?

And I thought I read that if you show up and show your registration, you get your wristband to the whole gig... So then could I just get a gen admission ticket and show my registration and get all the perks with my $55 ticket? Would I just lose the special Ducati Grandstand seating, but still get access to everything else?

Well I never heard that before but you may be able to do that.
I use to get tickets in the stands every year for F1 and set everywhere then one year I said it was to hot and crowed there so I starting hanging out in the grass. You don't have to have a lawn chair because your sitting on the side of a hill. I just like the freedom of being able to move from one spot to another to see the race.
I'm riding in this year so I'm doing the Island thing, but if I wasn't riding i'd just get the general admission ticket.

So heres the skinny on the deal...
There are again this year allowing 1 free guest with proof of Ducati ownership. You are admitted to the Ducati Island hospitality tent. You will NOT receive shirt/hat and grandstand seat. So if you are trying to save some cash, buy a $60 general admission 3 day pass and bring your registration/insurance card.
If you want the shirt/hat and a seat in the Ducati Grandstand, you must purchase the Ducatista Package for $125.
You decide if the seat and shirts worth $65.
You may also go to Indy Ducati Thursday (Fri and Sat pending amount of passes remaining) and pick up a free parking pass voucher for parking in the Ducati section.
See you all there, ill keep an eye out for the M and Corse flags!
