DMG/AMA needs to fold......
...Did anyone catch that Sportbike race.....23 laps....2 riders crash, then it's a 15 lapper...then, w/ 3 to go, they red flag again, go back 1 lap and declared Eslick the winner.....is this some sort of joke? WTF? I've seen horrible wrecks in BSB, by the time the guys are back around, it's cleared, their racing ...or..the very next lap....they are so efficient at clearing the track. But what the heck happened in Sunday's Sportbike race? You have sponsors who want exposure, you have a race for the championship...Eslick could have broke, crashed...what if....what if.... Eslick dumps it, Desalvo wins....anything can happen in 3 laps let alone 8....a the penultimate round in Sportbike is reduced 11 laps? VIR is off the calendar, now this.....how would any sponsor in their right mind support AMA/DMG Series....what an embarrassment, how pathetic!

I've seen almost all the DSB races this year, and none of them were disappointing. I was kinda bummed about today though, esp since I was at the track. I think AMA is doing fine now. They just have a bad rap, just like Ford pinto

I wondered why they couldn't clear the bike at the Corks Screw? It was still there when Eslick took his parade lap. Same with the turn two crash, anywhere else they would have slapped that rider on a back board and had him out of there in less than a minute. Looks like they didn't have enough track side help.

Really...
How do you propose the corner workers safely remove the bike? On a blind down hill corner?

They had to shorten the race. It was before the MotoGP races and they're on a tight timetable. So if there's a crash delay, shorten the race. AMA has had some of the best racing this season. Amazes me how some of you love radical propositions such as shutting it down when you have no idea what's going on.

....Good point.....but that's a trouble spot....and the AMA should have had sufficient corner workers to slow traffic...or...better yet....red flag, bring everyone in, restart the race for at least a 3 lap finale....good for the riders, great for the fans, sponsors....I know you compete, so you know better than most what a track is capable of and what it's not....however that was a disgrace and very unfair....I honestly don't care how great the racing has been....DMG keeps moving 1 step ahead, 3 steps back....DSB alone won't keep DMG/AMA afloat...there are many other important variables then a decent show. How can you take the best racing in the program and cut it's length in half.

Because the wealthiest racing in the world calls the shots and AMA is racing on their schedule.

.....OK, a bit of a knee-jerk reaction.....MotoGP shouldn't matter....the Sportbike race should have been run....it's DMG's best series....maybe by the time that the Sportbike race was up they got behind schedule...if so, again another blunder by DMG....
Think of the implications of this shortened race....now the season is OVER...nobody will catch Eslick as VIR is cancelled....so IF the race was run in it's entirerty....who know's what might have happened....maybe Beaubier over takes Eslick....maybe Eslick crashes, DeSalvo takes second....what if..yes...but you need to let it play out...and since VIR is gone, it might have made the NJMP race interesting....I "see" what is going on and it's disappointing end to season which deserved better...

I agree it's a disappointing end, but you fail to realize that the "royalty" of Motorcycle racing is the whole reason for the big Laguna weekend. Therefore, the importance of the weekend and focus is on them. That means no time delays. And since Daytona Sportbike isn't the premiere racing in even its own sanction, they had to keep it on schedule.
MotoGP shouldn't matter? Without them, this race may not even be happening.

Yep, the wealthiest and the worst racing....what a treat, 2 guys battling for top spot , 10+ (?) seconds ahead of a pack of 12 riders...pretty darn exciting....might as well be match play....pair them off round robin style and let em' race....I'm sure your right, but it doesn't excuse the poor execution of that DSB race....they needed to make sure that that race was run in it's entierty....they owed it to the riders, fans and sponsors....what a let down...
