Ben Bostrom to ride Wild Card LCR Honda at Laguna

Bostrom lands LCR ride for Laguna Seca - Yahoo! Eurosport

Pretty cool. Let's see if he does better than Elias.

What did they do, pull names from a hat? I'd rather see any of the five guys ahead of Bostrom in the AMA superbike standings get the wild card over him.

Blake Young
Josh Hayes
Tommy Hayden
Martin Cardenas
Larry Pegram

Blake Young has almost double the points Bostrom has in the series, not to mention six more wins. I like Bostrom well enough but it seems like he's definitely in the twilight of his career. Hell the guys 37 years old.

I think it has more to do with Bostrom knowing the track much better, didn't he win last year at Laguna in AMA? He's won quite a few races there and it's his home track. I'm sure Jordan had a lot to do with it too.

Isn't Pegram like 65 years old??

But I know what you're saying, I'd also like to see Blake of Tommy get the ride over Bostrom..

Agreed. Seems politicaly, MJ pulled some strings. Which is cool, Bostrom does know that track very well.

After watching B. Bostrom and Gobert kick ass at Laguna Seca on Ducatis in 1999 was something to behold! If he has half that form he will do a great job!

Blake, Tommy and Josh have jobs to tend to in the AMA. Their respective teams and sponsors don't need them getting hurt in a Wild Card ride.

Ben knows that track well, and with the proper motivation could haul ass. I think a top ten is possible.

How funny would it be if he beat Rossi.
