AMA/VIR annouce race weekend cancelled

........WTF!.....DMG gets KTM to come on board, the new Buell, a great weekend at Mid Ohio, huge fans....above all else great racing....and what....they cancel VIR the day after!!! You would think w/ KTM making VIR one of their test stops, DMG would pull every card they had in their back pocket to keep this race on the calendar. KTM isn't going to make or break AMA Superbike Racing but boy was it a much needed shot in the arm....
Who the eff is running the show at DMG and how can they possibly let this happen?

If VIR is not part of France family they are twisting the owner to sell the track to them. They been doing it a while: "sell or we pull the plug on you..."

...are you fucking kidding! If so and I was not only a DMG series sponsor, but a team....I would abort the rest of the season....who the eff are they to blackmail a family who put the heart, soul and $$$$ into a fantastic location for racing!
If...if it's come down to that.....I would boycott the rest of the season....if true DMG has become out of control....can't wait to hear the retort from the riders and team owners...and "the rest of the story"
Sad, very sad!

Just when IMO AMA/DMG had a good thing going they "blackmail" if what I've read is true....VIR and for whatever reason that race is cancelled.
Again if I was a rider, sponsor, team owner I would be infuriated and would demand a full explanation....IF it is even remotely true that DMG and VIR had a falling out because of the reasons set forth in this thread....man I would just walk away. If shit like this is going to occur, there is no reason to put forth the money nor effort in the DMG Racing Series...somebody need to explain exactly what happened here.....I've never heard of a race being shit canned with in a few weeks of it's race date....
No doubt BSB is one of the most exciting series going.....
MOTO RACING - AMA SBK: David Atlas On VIR Cancellation, Options

Ok....so I check to see if there's anymore news regarding this issue and I find this......which says NOTHING!....nothing but mumbo jumbo BS...WHY was the event cancelled....period!
It sounds like a personal issue has ensued between AMA and VIR and VIR took their toys and went home....what VIR did was meant to screw someone big time....a get back and take that......my 2 cents...

If this was the case wouldn't they have cancelled New Jersey at the same time?

As I have said more times then once, dmg/AMA racing is pitiful. They manipulate everyone because they have the only professionally sanctioned race series in the us.

From a press release issued by VIRginia International Raceway:

"VIR has received a number of inquiries and expressions of disappointment regarding the lack of a 2011 AMA Pro Racing event at VIR. As with any disagreement, there are two sides to every story. We want to make it clear that the decision was not one-sided, as David Atlas' remarks have implied, and that VIR made numerous proposals to AMA Pro Racing to keep this event on schedule. Due to our 10 year history with this premiere event, we are as disappointed by this outcome as most of those we have heard from.

VIR has worked hard to bring the event to fruition for months. Despite requests by VIR beginning in December 2010, AMA Pro Racing did not deliver its proposed contract for the 2011 event to VIR until early June 2011. Resulting discussions made it apparent that insufficient time remained to negotiate the new terms in the proposed contract and, if agreement were reached, to plan, promote and conduct the event in a professional manner.

In an effort to preserve the date, VIR went to extraordinary lengths to reach an alternative agreement with AMA Pro Racing, which AMA Pro Racing chose to reject. Given these circumstances, we had no choice but to take the date off the calendar and notify the public promptly."

They couldn't get a contract in time? What, a few weekends before the race isn't time enough? HAHAHAHAH!!!!

Thanks for digging that up chuck, I refuse to waste my time digging for articles on the AMA Roadracing series as it always seems to get me more and more depressed at the way things are going here in the states...
