Not to put too fine a point on it, but... Horseshit.
Valentino has well and truly earned every accolade hoisted upon him. He is one of the Greatest Of All Time, and nothing he does now or in the future will take anything away from what he has accomplished.
That article is complete and utter dreck and scarcely deserves to even be commented on, let alone quoted or copied on this fine site.

There's devil's advocate, and then there's lame pot stirrer with a pedestrian understanding of statistics trying to get a few clicks worth of ad revenue...

Absolutely!!!
Rossi is struggling on a bike that EVERYONE struggles with and all of a sudden he's not amazing anymore? He's "dried up"? Put Rossi back on his Yamaha, he'd be right up front tapping Stoner on the shoulder.
What people forget is, Stoner is winning this year because he is again on the best bike and doesn't have Rossi breathing down his back, its that simple.

It's very unlikely we will see Rossi win this year with Ducati. Not every racer has a good year and this may go down as Rossi's win less year in his entire professional career curtsey of Ducati. Yes I just looked it up Rossi has won races every single year of his pro racing career. I doubt in our life time we ever see such a motorcycle racer with such a record i.e. 7 World Titles in the premier class with 105 wins. All amazing stuff.

LOL, Tye may have just opened a can of worms just by mentioning Stoner. Wait I'm a Stoner fan.

Stick Stoner on the Yamaha and he'd be winning just as much as he is with the Honda, because he's an excellent rider. Shit, he's won the most races in the 800cc class and that was on the Ducati! You know, that red bike that Rossi's struggling with this year...
Stoner's skill gives him the ability to win on any bike. Once Rossi learns to adapt to a bike, like Stoner does, he'll do better on the Duc'. Rossi's wasting a lot time and money trying to adapt the Ducati to his style of riding, but there's just some things money can't buy. The Ducati will always be a different ride to the Jap bikes, and just because Rossi is struggling on it doesn't make that a bad thing.
I didn't think much of that article because it was written buy a guy who's favourite book is "How To Win At Donkey Kong".

^^ I will give credit in saying Stoner can ride and his number of wins shows this but I will also say if Rossi did not have his major injuries last year and it was business as usual....he would have had a few more wins and podiums and maybe even another title but things happen and other riders took advantage of what the cards dealt.
It would have been harder for him (Rossi) last year because Lorenzo was very strong and Pedrosa became more of a threat (until he broke his shoulder).
Going with Tye....Stoner is having an "easier" season with only having to worry about Lorenzo since Rossi is now mid pack and Pedrosa is broken yet again while on a killer bike that he has taken a liking to. I will say Stoner is not just costing by and only collecting points to stay ahead....he is running hard every round just incase Rossi or Pedrosa start be a factor again and to keep Lorenzo at bay.
It is just like Lorenzo last year....no real threat by all three aliens all year, but he rode the piss out of every race just incase someone did challenge him.
It was not Lorezno's nor is Stoner's fault in how things have turned out....and I bet they would love to run heads up all season with Rossi and Pedrsoa just to show they can have those kinds of results against a healthy/good bike alien grid.

Your backhanded credit is something I've grown well accustomed to here at .ms NSP.
Lorenzo earned his title and so did Stoner, and Hayden!
Yeah, you heard that from a 'non-fan' of Hayden and Lorenzo.
Business as usual in this class of racing, (any class of motorcycle racing), will have riders suffering injury. The last man standing with the most points at the end of the season is champion. It's that simple.
Don't try and rob them of their victories with your 'ifs' and 'buts' NSP...
