Hopper looking strong again in BSB

It's a shame if he makes his way back to Moto GP just to ride that Suzuki. But he's looking strong this year, second in points in a tough series on tracks he's never ridden. In a Fast Bikes article he said he gave up drinking and his main goal is to get back to GP. I'd say the chances are good, but I think he could do even better on a Honda or Yamaha.

Yup. He is my fantasy league savior. He is scheduled for Brno MotoGP on the zook. He is only contracted one year with BSB IIRC. I am pretty sure he will be riding in MotoGP next year. He already had a few wild-card offers this year.

...I've always liked John....so much talent wasted on that Yamaha and Suzuki in his early days in 500cc and MotoGP......DMG/AMA needs him here if he's going to run superbikes....and it's incredible how well he's doing in the UK. Those tracks are scary and the competition fierce!

not really....MotoGP is a much harder class to run in over BSB. It does suck that Hopkins never could get over the hump in GP, but that hump is what separates the aliens from the rest.

IMO, it would be a shame if Hopkins could not make it back into GP (especially when he had a bad year at the office in 08 with Kawasaki, a terrible WSBK season and his AMA stint was so-so). If he ended up out of the top in BSB....he would be burned at the stake because and ex-GP rider should mop the floor of that series (look at WSBK and the ex GP guys running the show there). At least at ths point....most people will blame the underdeveloped Suzuki is what keeps him out of contention.

I hope more American's leave AMA/DMG bullshit and hit up BSB, that would be awesome!
