...saw it, reminiscent of the LeMans crash...photographers got lucky again the commentators said. Actually it took the crash team longer to cut out the guy in the Mazda, the guy in the camaro walked away.
The cars don't appear to be going fast until you get some perspective as they run off track....

Wow. I'm surprised drivers are able to walk away from shit like that. He got some real 'air' going over that barrier and through the fence.

Those gravel traps just ain't cutt'n it these days to slow the cars. They skim like flat rocks off smooth water once they leave the track at speed.

My vintage Mustang will hit its top speed of 145-150mph (aerodynamic properties of a brick) at the point where I brake for turn one. So he was probably going 160+. Not a good place to have your throttle stick wide open.

The runoff there at turn one looks bigger on TV than in person...
