So, there was talk in a previous thread about the GP12 bike being stiff. Hayden said the new GP11.1 chassis was "softer" up front, which I take to mean it wasn't as ridgid.
It's going to be interesting to see Hayden vs. Rossi (with the new engine AND the chassis changes) times to see how much of the mediocre results could have been attributed to handling vs power delivery.
The Rossi/Stoner rivalry is really starting to go from blossom to full bloom. That's awesome, because I really want to see them fight it out on the track.
...bring out the 1200's and take away the electronics and see what we've got. Nice.

Well only a little over an hour away from FP1 and I'm excited! Bring on the GP11.1. I hope it's dry.
Did anyone see the pre weekend press conference? F*cking hilarious!
Edwards remarked that he has some fond memories of Assen, actually he used some other words but they were 'bleeped' out. He's quite openly spoken, I like that.
It was quite funny when he gestured at Hayden and said; "I still don't like this asshole for that". (referring to 2006) Nicky replied; "The feelings mutual'.
Wow, just a couple of Texans shootin' the shit. Priceless stuff.
They quizzed Hayden about why he wasn't running the new Ducati this race and he commented about he's already used up 4 engines so he has to wait.
Edwards says; "Welcome to being Valentino's teammate!". Hayden really didn't look impressed at that.
Edwards threw out so many smart arse comments for the whole conference it was great! He's a real character.
Whoregay was asked how he feels about Rossi getting a new bike while he suffers the Yamaha with no improvements. He looked pissed off and said; "Yamaha gives nothing".
Stoner was asked if he feels more pressure leading the championship, and he surprisingly said he feels less. He was then quizzed about a quote from Rossi which stated he wasn't able to give the right feedback to the engineers during his time at Ducati and that's why Rossi thinks Ducati weren't able to make the bike better. Stoner replied; "Well at least I can ride this one". Stoner was not impressed.
Anyway talk is cheap, less than an hour to go before FP1. Roll yourself a Dutchie and let's see what happens.

Edwards said it, they both were thinking it!

Touche! Rossi really left himself open for that one. He's also stuck his neck out now by inferring that the GP11.1 bike is new slate material. If it's a miserable failure, he's going to eat a little humble pie. If you ask me, the pressure has been mounting but now it's starting to show through.
That rivalry is going to bring out the best in both of them...or so I hope. Hopefully we'll get some exciting races before the 800's go the way of the dinosaurs.

Haha! Isn't Kentucky part of Texas? I should of said 'Southerners'. They are both from your South aren't they?
Just goes to show that I know as much about your country, as you probably care to know about mine.

It's too early to talk, but at least there's nothing negative to say just yet.

^^^ FP was a real wash out. But it's good to see Rossi a hell of a lot higher on the time sheet. Good on him. About f*cking time. But it was a seriously nasty sodden session.
PS. Yes. I do believe Kentucky is near New York...
