Going to Indy?

I would like to see the race at Indy this year and take my son, 10. We'd go Saturday and Sunday. The first priority would be my son having a fun time, second would be watching the race. Anybody with experience in this department care to comment with tips and pointers. What's a good section for seating? What kind of passes do I want to make sure to get? Getting close to the machines and/or riders would probably mean more to my son than the race itself. Thanks.

Edit: Sorry, referring to the MotoGP race in August. Thanks.

Thanks guys. Had not thought about ear plugs (my son is 10). I'm going to look into the Ducati ticket package.
