travel to French motoGP 15 May
I have managed to arrange a business trip to be in Paris on 14 & 15 May. Has anyone been to the track in LeMans before? Any helpful info would be aprreciated. I am wondering if it is possible to get a train from De Gaulle airport area to LeMans and back all on Sunday? How far is the train station from the track? Is it complete madness that day or not so bad? I've heard some pretty wild stories about trying to get to the Spanish GP.
Thanks in advance

Did it years ago.
easy trip , though I cannot remember which airport it is one of them has a train station in the airport literally got off the plane and 2 hours later was on a train. Also if you land at the other airport there are buses that run often that go to the main train stations.
schedules and locations can be found here SNCF: Travel, Transport, and Logistics
the national rail service. Last time I went booked the train online in advance although you can buy a ticket at the gate.
I think it was an hour and half by train from Paris or 2

I went to the 24 hours of Le Mans way back in 1997. The train is your best bet. I drove to Le Man's that year all the way from Germany and it was a nightmare. The French highways system or lack there of just sucks. I stayed in a hotel in the city and drove to the race since I had a car. You can take a bus or taxi from your hotel in the city of Le Mans to the track which is outside of the city. Please book your hotel in Le Mans asap since they do sell out on any big race weekend. Now go and enjoy yourself.

I wanted to go but J.C. has banned me from France on account of my not being a Stoner fan.

^no he's not. He's actually a former malaysian sweat-shop owner and a habitual gambler.

I haven't been for years but +1 on what corvus said. Public transport is pretty good over here.
You can get on the train from de Gaulle airport straight to Le Mans. It's about 90min trip. Book a ticket to link up with your flight if you can, but not absolutely necessary.
The track is about 20 - 30 min from the Le Mans train station, depending on traffic, grab a taxi or take the bus to the track. Buses usually leave every 15 mins when a race is on.
It will be a busy time, but a great atmosphere. You can do it all in a day but it will be a 'big' day. Have fun.
Matt's always welcome in my country, just as long as I know when he's coming so I can hunt him down.
... and FYI Matt, my sweat-shop was in Hondorus. Get your facts straight buddy.

Ohhh, my bad. I thought your coca plantation was in Honduras. What did you have in Malaysia? Poppy fields?
Then there's the white slavery and organ harvesting out of Kosovo and the list goes on and on.
Guys, don't get on J.C.'s bad side. I'm actually afraid of leaving the house sometimes. I have to go get groceries this afternoon and I'm thinking of taking my 9 with me.
