Retro alloy wheel options for GTs?
I'm not having much success finding anything, not even on Ducati's site, so I'm hoping other GT owners can point me to some options.
While I'm interested in spoked ones similar to the stockers, I also like the look of the straight, simple bronze\gold wheels of the late '70s 900 SS.
Any info, links, and cost info would be greatly appreciated, and please, retro style suggestions only.
By the way - I'm in no position financially right now to pull the trigger - just thinking ahead

If you want spoked alloys similar to the stock steel wheels then either a pair of alloy rims from the Sport 1000 (these are sold by Ducati as an accessory for the GT1000) or a pair of Alpinas may fit the bill.
I have a pair of alloy rims as used on Sport 1000, they were fitted to my bike when I bought it & I have replaced them with 5-spoke Marchesinis. I may be prepared to sell them but to be honest I suspect the shipping costs from the UK to the US may render this financially non-viable.
You could try ebay or check out DP costs for the alloy rim wheels with local dealers - depends how much you wish to spend.

Thanks RH but I'm not keen on the black. Not a bad price though! Apparantly Ducati no longer sells the Sport wheels as I can't find them on their site.

Another option could be to find a wheel builder who could fit alloy rims & whatever spokes you choose to a standard GT wheel. There are guys in the UK who offer this type of service but I've no idea what the cost is.
You would also need to either source some standard GT wheels as donors or take your bike off the road while your original wheels are rebuilt.
Just a thought. Good luck with whichever option you eventually choose.
BTW my alloy wheels are silver (with stock rotors). I am not going to advertise them so feel free to contact/PM me if you eventually decide to go that route. I shall be headed for the Florida Keys during the summer but Mrs H won't allow me to take a pair of wheels in our luggage!

I would write the italian guy… maybe if he exports the wheels, he can substract the 20% tax that are included!

Dealers can still get all sorts of things from Ducati that they do not show on their site. The site shows a very limited selection of their accessories, so don't judge what's available from that.
