Fun with Walmart

So lately I've seen some great random pictures cropping up on this sight and have been saving them with the right clickity. In my off time I started playing with them in Photoshop. Photography is a hobby of mine and I'm a fan of the old black and white photos. In my farting around, I've been playing extremes of saturation, hue and tint until I got the stye I was looking for. At first they look like a b&w, but then you notice just the reds, green and whites peeking about. It is fun to the random pictures into my custom filter to see the effects. Some are just stunning. I printed them up on 4x6 paper intending to frame them for my office (a shrine in progress to motorbike culture). But then, in a fit of brilliance (for me anyway) I took my zip drive to the evil empire Walmart. There, for just $23 each, they printed my shots in 20" x 30" poster and supplied me with a glossy posterframe. Talk about cheap and instant gratification! Pixelation inherant of making posters from small files even enhanced the intended effect, dating the pictures further. Here are the ones I've pulled so far. Special thanks to the local Ducati.ms members who have been graciously shared their passion here. I'm working on others and will post them when finished.

The helmet one is killer. How is the resolution at the 20x30 size? Seems like at the size (1022 × 683) it would be a little pixelated, unless is was reduced when uploaded.

Well, this one was taken from a 416 x 546 JPG, and blown up to the 20" x 30" poster, and it came out great. I realize that alot of folks get off on high res, but I'm the opposite. The lower res B&W shots really don't need the crispness to convey the shot and the pixelation adds a cool texture to it. And no, that's not me on the monster, but another forum member. It's a great job he did on that custom.
