front signal spacer removal gt1000

I've searched the forum and can't find instructions basic enough for me to follow for this simple, subtle home mod. Once the allen bolt is removed, does the spacer have to be cut out, or does the wire detach from the blinker somehow to let the spacer slide off?

btw, do to old man winter I haven't ridden in a while (4 weeks!) and I have never known a craving to ride like I have now with the duck. I have never had a bike that makes me feel the need for a riding fix like this. I feel like a junky. a sick junky in withdraw.

If you trace the wires back , you will find find where you can disconnect them.
