Talking Replacing front springs

I ride a 07 GT and have had the back suspension replaced with Wilbur shocks set up for my height/weight, which is 5'4 120 lbs.

It's much better though I still feel like I'm riding a bronco when I hit a hard bump in the road. Last week while going around 80 on a straight stretch, I hit a bump that made me almost lose control and took my breath away. I've had lot's of bikes and have never had that experience...my last one being a Multistrada. I do not have the big bucks to pay for new front shocks and I'm considering buying new springs from Race Tech Suspension that will work for my weight. Any advice or suggestions? Will this make a difference?
I really love riding this bike except for the suspension...

Happy New Year to all!

Yes they will absolutely make a difference and you should get that done. In addition, I would suggest a steering damper. They make a world of difference in reducing headshake, especially on the GT.

Installing springs is a bit of a chore but I will post some special tools and a step by step that should make it easier if you are going to tackle this yourself. If you are just going to get a suspension guy to drop them in for you, let me know and I'll skip posting pictures on this.

That said, this is an easy and cheap fix and works great. We are on opposite spectrums of the weight scale but have the same problem...

Don't forget that a large part of the Gt's suspension problems are due to the weight of the wheels.
