Link to NHTSA

Link to NHTSA if you want to report a problem with your motorcycle. (Spreading tanks, burning regulators, etc.)

I've been using The Safety Recalls part of that site for many years to check on my bikes. I may not be in the USA but the info is still good. I'm guite sure a lot of forum members know of this site. Still good to see a post with info on it once in awhile to remind everyone that there is a mechanism in place to help pursue problems.

Anyone who has had any spreading or bubbling issues with their tank, please fill out the form from the link above.

Even if you have had a replacement and are not having problems now, or haven't sought to replace the tank yet, but are starting to see signs of problems, please fill it out.

Putting pressure on the NHTSA and Ducati is one avenue to getting the tank problem fixed, once and for all. From the tank problems poll, there should be close to 200 reports on file (assuming most issues are US-based). Currently, there aren't even 1/3 of that number being reported.

Current pastimes: 2004 ST4s / 2010 SF 1098 S

I submitted my complaint. My 07 SC1000 Biposto had serious spread at 400 miles (I bought it with 400 knowing there was spread).

Everyone should really take the 3 minutes to file a complaint.

Here are some quick links to see what has already been submitted (note that this is "all" complaints and not just for the tanks):

... currently 2008, 2009, and 2010 have NO complaints.

I just filed my complaint...

I filed my Sport1000 as a 1000GT because 2008 Sport1000 was not a choice.
