My Black Sport 1000 & Finally No Rain
this past week was the first rain free one in the ca bay area in a long time, at least since i picked up my black sport 1000.
it was been just sitting in my garage week after week, and finally emerged from its batcave.
its got the 2into1 ti termi's and i did a compromise on cleaning up the tail fender.
the evo kit really just didn't look like it gave enough clearance after i installed it, and with other comments from peeps here who had trouble with theirs, i decided to scrap it. i did however cannibalize the evo plate frame to make my own mount which i drilled and tapped directly on to the SS extender bar. i chopped a few inches off tghe extender and was able to move up the plate quite a bit over stock position. i mounted a LED light bar on the plate frame and re-wired. the plastic fender i took off completely.
while not the most reduced set up for the rear, it is a sight better than right off the showroom floor. i would call this the reduced fat tail chop.
anyways, this bike sounds great, runs better. still getting glaze off the tires, but i love this thing.

Man, I was so close to changing my order to black, but just couldn't bring myself to do it! It looks great in black. Congrats!

Very Nice Bike, Mister
Attaboy Otter X. Now that's a machine. Careful, don't stare at it whilst riding or you may up inadvertently changing the rake on frontend!

Something funny about these Sport 1000s. I can honestly say that it is the only bike model I can remember where I thought all of the available colour schemes looked just great. Really, of the three, I can't argue that one appeals to me more than the other. They all look fantastic. The black is great with the black frame - very Vincent Black Shadow-ish in a way that really works with the retro theme. The yellow is extra nice for historical reasons, and maybe also because that is the colour the protoype was, so now it just looks right to me. And of course the red is red, and red always looks right on a Duc. Every time someone posts a picture of their Sport here, I am thinking "yes, that looks just right".
*sigh* Anyone want to lend me CDN$13,995? I think I can spring for the Termi myself.

Thats like $5 bucks US right? I'll go hit the change jar for the cause.
Personally, I think yellow is the only way to go. When I first made my reservation, there was no choice. Even beyond that, I think the yellow is the best looking of the bunch. Not a fan of the red at all, the black does look nice (especially with that 2-1), but the yellow pulls the whole retro thing together perfectly. Black with a gold stripe might tickle me a little better...
On the other hand, I'm not a real big fan of the GT...but, that GT in red is sweet.
