Case cover lightening and polishing project..
Got this cover from a fellow Sport owner in need of my black side cover.
I wanted a cover with Ducati embossed into it-as is on Monsters-and not ours.
I called Ben Fox at Fox Performance Engines in Colorado today( www.foxperformanceengines.com) and ship the cover to have him work his magic on venting the housing.
Upon it's return, this cover and the left side cover will both be mirror polished (perfect time for the Nichols flywheel and dual crank nut install) before reassembly.
Stay tuned for the coming pics after the venting, then the polishing...

That is something I really look forward to seeing, Thunderduc! The biggest single visual fault with the SC's IMO is the mediocre finish of the crankcases and covers.
Please post lots of pix and the details including the costs involved.

Don,
I believe in trying to capture some of the true 70's Bevel Drive finish, yet with modern race quality items that make you take a second look.
Thanks for the interest, hoping to be updating the venting in week or so, the polishing by the end of the month, early May so folks know the timeframe.
Other parts being polished also include the aluminum quarter turn throttle housing and a few other 'bits'
ThunderDuc 2.0, stay tuned

Went to the Fox site. Damn that looks good! And at $75 it is a very reasonably priced service.
If this comes out looking as good as I expect it will I'm gonna hate my GT's wet clutch cover more than ever!

I'd want to be the first dry clutch GT owner on my block then, just the way I am-

Well, now I know where to send my crank next winter
That looks so good, I love the vented clutch, Dr_D's clutch looks and sounds so good.
Excellent choice there Chris.

A letter of support !
Chris, I share your vision. One thing these bikes need is proper polished engine cases. Thanks for blazing the trail.

I've only seen one other so far-and he doesn't post much
In the spirit of these bikes and the original Bevel cases - more than a little work-but all worth the effort!
