I replaced my horns with smaller black ones in the stock location.

I did the relocation in about 15 minutes. I worry about the heat of the motor and the plastic cover, but otherwise super pumped about the result. Thanks wasp.

Thanks Papawheelie.
I may have stated before that i live in Perth, Western Australia. We have recently started our summer where the weather is generally in its 30>40 degrees (celsius that is). I rode with Corks67 boxing day evening while the temp was 35c (boxing day was 44c) and in two months i have had no heat problems with the horn. Same can be said with water in the horn, as perhaps heat transfered from the engine evaporates it before any damage.
Anyway, like i said in another post, you now have a spare horn should the otherone Shit itself.

Enjoy..

I too was most concerned with the heat, so thx for that extra info. It definitely looks fantastic.

Now I have only one more question: Do you think I can fit a Fiamm in there, because I would have already changed to Fiamms except that I haven't been able to figure out where to put them without it looking like crap. My faired bikes have spoiled me - it's so easy to hide really good horns.

I just swapped my stock horn out for a $14 130db Wolo and took a spin around the block. Much louder and fuller sound. The single stock horn was tinny and not very attention grabbing.

Great mod!

I did the same as motomonster with the 130db unit in the same spot between oil cooler and throttle unit. so now i have one stock horn and the other is a dummy since i wired the 130db to it. this way i get the higher pitch tone from the stock and the loud deep tone from the 130db. will try taking out the stock horn altogether and let you guys know there's any big difference. plus the clean look up front is growing on me from seeing your guys' pictures.
