SC1000 Tank bag

I'm looking for some advice on tank bags for the SC1000.

What are your views of the Ducati (larger bag), how big is it? Does it get in the way when tucking in at speed? Is it easy to take on and off? What does it cost?

Also I see Baglux do a bag, has anyone tried it? What's it like? Are there other option?

Thanks for your help

Do a search. There was a lot about tank bags when the SC first came out. I seem to remember that people weren't too happy with the big bag. I think it did not hold too well.

If you see something new out there let us know.

Actually, I think it was the small bag that did not hold well to the tank, since it is a plastic (non-metallic) tank, so the magnets are useless.

I have the large tank and can't imagine it ever letting go. The tank bra is strapped to the frame, and the bag attaches to the bra with snap buckles. Very secure. And also very easy to take the bag with you when you park.

On the negative side, yes, you tend to lay on top of the bag when you ride. Truthfully though, it is no different than if you were to use any large touring bag.

The other thing that I dislike is that the bra is cut so you can sometimes see the DUCATI logo of the tank under the bra. It would have been nicer if it came down the sides a little bit more.

Slowerthan hit all the major points.

It really is an excellent bag, I highly recommend it. The four large clips in the corners will stop it from moving anywhere let alone coming off completely.

It is large enough for a weekend getaway with clothes, or to fill it with camera equipment or waterproofs.

It will get in the way at high speed, it will cut you top end down, but it's great to rest your chin on when cruising at highway speeds.

I found that with the tank bag, panniers and a top bag (hi Johnny), it was really hard to drag a knee though. There just wasn't enough space to move around.

I knew it was one or the other. But I also knew that someone would have the correct information.

I have the large bag on my PS. I love it. I hardly ever ride without it. I'm tall so my observations might be different than for those closer to the average height rider, but I never find it to be in the way, even if I have it stuffed to maximum capacity. As has been mentioned before, it will hold enough stuff for a weekend getaway.

If memory serves me correctly, I think I paid about $280 USD.

I had one of these, one of the stays pulled out half way to Phillip Island. Bad stitching. So I took it back, the spares guy told me it was a common fault and suggested I get a different brand. I just ordered a Bagster. The tank cover is colour matched to the bike.
