Aftermarket pipes

Trying to gauge prices on aftermarket pipes for a GT1000. Go with the Ducati aftermarket pipes and accessories or are there other aftermarket pipes that will give me the same gains. What about cost?????? Any input is appreciated.

Exclamation

Biggest deal seems to be the need to add something (either a complete new ecu or a piggy back device PCIII etc...) to be able to adjust the fuel air ratios after said aftermarket exhaust is added.
The closed loop stock configuration is not alteration friendly.

I got a price on the Termi slip ons for my S and they were about $1,150.00 for the pipes, ecu and the airbox piece. That plus an hour or 2 of installation.

Geez, i can buy a K&N, PCIII, and a slip on pipe for less than that, I think. For you guys running the Termi set up, is it worth the added expense? Has anyone modded there own airbox for less restriction? I'm all about doing cheap mods too.

That price is for the new model S, so it may be more than you GT? The only thing about the Termi's is that (so i'm told) Ducati will not void your warranty with the Termi install where they can with other set ups.

Talking

I have the termi set up on my GT and they are awesome. The fit and finish, sound and look IMHO cannot be beat. The bike ran much better and smoother after they were fitted to the bike and the sound when you roll off the throttle is aural ecstasy(no baffles). The best sound in bikedom including my former Ducs fitted with termis(916,996 and 996sps).

Staintune has a set out for the GT at $899. and I understand that Keihin has a set of Conti reps under development.

I can't speak for the other exhaust manufacturers, but the beauty of any Termignoni exhaust is they can be re-packed.

My local Duc shop sent out my Termi 2-1 for a PS1000LE to be ceramic coated. Upon reassembly, the Tech performing the work re-packed the can.

I would now describe the sound volume as a nice compromise between the stock exhaust, and a "stock" Termi 2-1. But what I like the most about the re-packed can is, even though I lost some of the loud volume with the re-packing, the exhaust note is now much deeper than the stock Termi 2-1.

Did you put the termi's on after the break in? Does it matter? I hear it's best to get at least to the first service before making changes like that. Inputs???
