1000 s fairing
what are the procedures for mounting a front fairing from the 1000 s to the sport 1000? is it possible? i am going to pick up a ps 1000 tomorrow, but after looking at the pics of the sport 1000 i love it with out the fairing. but i had a speed triple with out the fairing and felt i was getting too much wind. before that i had gsxr and used the fairing quite a bit. that is why i was leaning towards the ps 1000? any advice?

I know i've seen a thread here about someone doing that to a SC or maybe a GT. Someone will link it or you can search it.
I'll tell you that I wish the fairing on my S was a little bigger to deflect more wind.

so does it work well atleast. at what speed do you notice a problem? on my speed triple with out the fairing 100 to 115 was a pain to deal with. i never went over 115 because it blew my head around, even tucked low. i felt like i had poor control, and i put clip ons on the bike.

Do a search for user name, or send a PM to "jerrittcat". He's got a kicka## yellow Sport1000 with the fairing from ProItalia, and could probably answer your questions.

Here is my 06 sport with the old school ss750 fairing kit. bigger than the 1000s fairing, and it has a Zero gravity windscreen with a nice helmet shaped cut out. you and tuck into and look throgh the screen for a brief ton up!

I have a problem at 75+. I'm a big guy and the wind really grabs my shoulders and helmet. I like to ride in a normal riding position on the freeway and open roads rather than tucked down just because I see better and have more control. I'll look into an aftermarket shield for sure.
