Touring two up on a GT.

I bought a GT in the spring with intention of going touring two up in Europe this summer. Last weekend was the moment of the first rehearsal; 700 kms later I am all smiles, the bike is comfortable, frugal, fast and stable. The Missus is happy too! As You can see the bike is loaded with full camping gear and personal stuff for 2 persons.

Even though the bike is well loaded high up, it does'nt feel top heavy at all, which is what I was hoping for when I bought it. Modern bikes have a tendency of putting the passenger seat high up, which makes the bike feel top heavy with a passenger on board....

Facts: 5 cm cut down Ducati screen, GT Rossi hugger, HB 40 liters, Bagster tankbag, Pyramid front fender extension, Comfort seat, Termignionis with chip and db killers. Standard suspension.

Fuel consumption avg.: 49 mpg (21 kml) on 2/3 motorway(120 km/h), 1/3 backroads(90 km/h).

Have a great summer, Jorgen.

Good show, welcome to the 2-up club!

You both look like you're ready to roll. Nice to see the GT doing it's job.

Great Looking setup and what a wonderful way to travel! I am hoping to be in your neck of the woods in mid July visiting my brother in Stockholm and then heading down through Copenhagen and on to Delft to stay with another friend. Where do you plan to go on your GT?
Cheers!

Enjoy

I know you will have a great time. I did a 5,000 km trip, 2 up and fully loaded with my daughter last summer. The GT was flawless. She even felt great givin it in the twisties up north. We had some epic rides.
Enjoy!

Hi Steve,

The 13 Juli we are heading down south direction the french atlantic coast, Brittany, Normandy with the ultimate goal of ending up in the region of Spain surrounding Bilbao. The project is born out of an ambition of not going to Italy, this year!

Cheers Jorgen

nice!

every summer my wife & i do a trip - usually around 1,000 miles or so for a week of camping & riding. the ds1000 motor is great for motoring around fully-laden, plenty of drive on tap when ya need it and never need to hunt around for the right gear.

glad to see another sc rider using these things to the fullest!
