GT1000: Clutch Not Disengaging Fully

Jumped on my bike this morning and noticed that clutch wouldn't fully disengage when pulling in the clutch lever in first gear. Neutral felt 'free' but 1st gear, with clutch lever pulled in, had noticeable 'dragging'. Decided not to ride it till I get it sorted.

Does anyone know why this is happening? She was perfect a week and a half ago

Note: Bike always garaged, always dry. Clutch and brake fluid changed 600 miles ago. Evoluzione slave cylinder. Pazzo levers.

Thanks for any help/info in advance.

Cheers,

Tmnstr

sounds like you've either got air in your clutch line, either your slave/master is bad, or your clutch plates are sticking together, which rarely happens with a wet clutch, but it does happen

Bleed it first. If that doesn't seem to help put the front wheel against a solid surface...a tree works, start the bike and put it into first gear. If the plates are sticking a little this will free them. If it truly is dragging it will kill the engine.

If it breaks them loose, take it for a ride to warm it up good then change the oil and the filter.

Thanks for the advice. I just had all fluids and filters done 600 miles ago, so I'm going to see if my shop will re-bleed it/diagnose it without charge. Fingers crossed

Bike Wisdom Update: Talked to Mark S @DucShop and after a lengthy phone diagnosis suited up and took her out to see if she would not go into neutral/pull along in first with the clutch in at a stop sign/red light.

Result: No drivability issues at all (!) Seems that she needed to be taken around the block to loosen her up.

Should've known

Know I know,
