Info please: Zard street (homologated) vs race exhaust

Hi,
It's my first post on this forum! I have a stock 2006 Paul Smart 1000 LE and am looking to let it breathe. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the street and race version zard exhausts. I am looking for stainless steel, full system only. I have emailed zard twice over the past 2 weeks and they won't reply... I did some research of my own and seems like the differences may only be internal? Maybe one version has a catalytic converter and one doesn't, or the race doesn't have removable baffles like the street version does and that's why the race version makes more power than the street version. Any info?
Thanks in advance!

Seein as how you are in Canada I can recommend Marco at EuroCorsa Zard: Canada in Toronto. He is a dealer for Zard. The only difference as far as I know is race version has no removable baffle (just about a 3"tip") ..and is a bit louder ...I have it on mine but dont have the "quiet" street version to compare to. I think they are about 6db or so apart.......

Tell Marco I sent you

Hey Stephano,
I did talk to Marco at EuroCorsa, great guy!
He confirmed that the only difference between the street and race version is that the street has the baffle.
Thanks!

Thanks Muzz for the link. $600CAN for the over/under system is more reasonable than the entire system plus ECU that other places want to do. Wish someone would do that with Termis (I only need a bottom one...black).

LeDuc,

Ya like JC he really knows how what customer service is all about ! As well that is one Italian\Canadian that could (and probably has) sold ice cream to Eskimos .....I think so highly of him and his service that even if I can get something at the same price or cheaper locally (which with Marco never happens) I will pay the shipping from Toronto to Vancouver and wait for it because he earned it thru the great service he has given me over the years

I was pretty sure the only difference is the baffle...trust me you dont need it in CowTown !

AC - $600 ??? How's that ? If so I'm gonna take Marco aside for a good ol' fashioned Italian "sit down" when I see him at the show back in Montreal next month !

Mine came with baffles and I had them removed (lock ring & grind a small tack weld) Done!! Loud and beefy!

Zard: Sport 1000 & Paul Smart
OVER-AND-UNDER SIDE MUFFLERS:

Z D 019 S S R

Sport 1000 & Paul Smart N.2 over-and-under steel side racing mufflers

600

What's wrong with that?

My bad, looking at their map in "Where we are" they're in northern Italy. The way muzzman was talking I thought they were Canadian...eh! So I'm guessing those prices are Euro which is back at "too much Lira".

AC > I wasnt reading closely ..I thought he quoted you $600 for a complete system !! Those are just replacement mufflers ...priced in Euros = $830 usd or $826 cdn . Getting them shipped from Italy is ++ ...Unless Marco offered you ther price but you still need the rest of the system ...... when I last checked full system was over $2k ......

My fault tho....I posted both the link to Zard for product referenc where they list Marco (in Toronto ) as the North American distributor...his website is :

http://www.eurocorsa.com/cgi-bin/com...i?display=home

So solly !
