Sport 1000s Track Bike Build

Hi All,

This is our new project bike! It will essentially be a rolling showroom for some of the goodies we stock........officially.

Below are the previous owners. Martin was slightly ambivalent about the sale.

Changed the original rubber on the way home. Running some Pirelli Super Corsa Sp's for now

On the work bench and ready for an over haul

Lots more to follow!

I'm just about to take delivery of exactly the same model - again in totally stock trim. Will be interested to see how this one progresses!

Thanks Erikesp, it's an old army drill hall I converted years ago.

Some bits I have been accumulating for the build. Forks are 1098s, disks are 748R, rear sets are DP 900ss. Clutch and brake master cylinders are 1098

Now, time to get to work!

Start with an easy bit. Simple inversion for race shift (requires a longer shift rod with these rear sets). Heel guards are on the way.

Wow. you gotta document this front suspension/brake swap.
This is something I'd like to do by year's end.
I'm assuming you'll be swapping out the wheels as well?

Thanks!

Will do Petrole. There are a couple of ways to go about it.

Forged Aluminum Marchesini Wheels, and Super Sprox sprocket. These were all supplied by the ever helpful JC.
These are the sport classic version which have 6 bolt holes for the front disk. In order to run the monoblock calipers you require the 748R (late model) disks which have a rare offset of 15mm.
The alternative is to run an entire front wheel including disks off a 848/1098/1198 which is a 5 bolt arrangement and already has the disks spaced at the appropriate distance apart (approx 135mm)

Found a DP race fairing kit on ebay an snapped it up!

The kit included this which I'll save for another project. It has an adaptor to fit to a fairing-less bike. It also would require modification for the 1000s speedo. The mount is for a sport 1000 speedo
