Retro/Cafe Helmets

I've just got myself a Davida Ninety-Two - a hand laid Kevalr composite open face helmet (very small outer shell) to compliment my Duc's old school looks...

(Style wise it seems my tastes are heading firmly down the Deus/Wrench Monkees/WaltSiegl route...)

Going old-school/retro also draws me to some very old (and unsafe) helmets, like the old Bell Moto 3.

What old school - or just old style - lids are you guys using? - or what sits in the display cabinet at home?

Retro looks are a breath of fresh air, especially in the states where every sport rider wants to look like a transformer, rightly so, it's safe gear. I really dig the monster retro look. Not many craftily produced helmets on the market these
days. Davida's are tits. I want one. Bell's new 500 helmet is a best buy for the money, colors galore.Ruby's are too cool but up there in price with davida.

The new US Spec Bell Jnr seems to have a smaller Shell size. There is a very Cool Steve McQueen rep. They're sought after over here, but hard to find, and the build quality is superb.

I just received this one from Japan. Pretty decent quality. It is the Custom GT750 by Tachibana. It is not DOT but appears to be well made. It is Japan Industrial Standards (JIS) approved for what it's worth.

I got it from Made in Japan motorcycle parts shop - motobike.jp

Nice lids! Love the open face ones, love the way no helmet feels even more - miss that feeling when i was a teen it was leagal here, but I only do fullface after watching pavement slide by under my fullface shield once many years ago as a teen and wanting to keep my preety face. I like Arai. I like the look of the Dumans retro custom full face, wonder if it feels as good as my Arai on? I would consider that...no Dot...hmmm..

Hi Bon1000. My retro full face from Japan doesn't feel near as good on my head as my Phil Read Arai.

I'm a fan of the fit and finish of the Ruby Helmets...if you can swallow dealing with the French and the $800.00 price tag they are amazing looking!

^ The Ruby's are really beautiful and well made...my girl wanted the black with white polkadot one, i used the "you need a full face arg." to save my wallet some serious injury

I'm using a Momo scooter helmet when I want to look kewl.

I took off the lens/shield and use Scott motocross goggles to complete the look.
