Bargain Bling!
I have disliked the little chrome cover on the left side of my engine, the alternator/crank cap, since I bought the bike. It looks somehow, unfinished, like something is missing. It needs a logo or ??. (See attachment below.)
So, I found this neat little alternative at Nichols Sportbikes: Nichols Sport Bikes | Products | Crank Case Logo Cover , and just bought it. Total price, including shipping, less than $50. Awesome, problem solved and a cool little solution.
So, I get to thinking, how many other inexpensive little "fixes" are out there? You know, the "slap yourself in on the forehead why didn't I think of that" kind of thing. I'm curious, so please share: $50 or less(ish) items you've found to dress up, improve, or just plain scratch an itch that your Sport Classic gives you...

From memory, forty bucks, which includes all the hardware. Order from JC.

Powder coat!!
There are a ton of off color natural aluminium parts that could use some cosmetic improvement. I just got back clipons, gas cap, U-bracket, indicators back from my guy. Really sets it apart from a stocker.
ALSO...
Frame plugs can do the trick if you choose the color correctly. Think I got mine for around 50.
I replaced my headlight for 75 bucks with a chrome classic british style headlight with a nice clear glass lense....sitting next to my buddies sport it looks waaay better than stock IMHO. Just dont tell him I said that.....
There are also a ton of tailights at spiegler Im looking into this winter for around 30-80 bucks.

Cool. Any chance you could post a pic and let us in on the source?

Thanks for that link, Jeff! I agree with you. But I want the '70s DUCATI font (so it matches the tank font), not the newer fast one

I know, but it's closer to authentic Also personally that's my favorite iteration of the Duc logo
