Hello From New GT 1000 Rider in Fort Lauderdale
Well here goes - I'm located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I'm the proud owner of a 2007 GT 1000 which I acquired used in September of 2011 with approximately 4000 miles. I have put on about 1200 miles and made some significant modifications, including new mudguards, rizoma tanks, new seat, mirrors, grips, luggae rack and taken off the ugly evap canister - about to step it up with new exhaust and rear shocks and wanted advice on maintenance, etc.

Congrats on the bike! I'm curious, when you take off the evap canister, do you have to change the gas cap to vent that way?

i think your due for a valve adjustment at around 7500 miles. then i think the next one is at 12000? belts should be replaced as well.
what kind of exhaust are you looking at?

no, you leave the hose attached just draining to the bottom. so no need to change the way it vents.
