GT wheels upgrade

I have a fairly stock gt (termis and comfort seat) and was wondering if its worth the effort of upgrading the wheels any thoughts?

In my opinion, it's the #1 mod for the GT. The stock wheels are pretty, but very heavy. Lots of options, from alpina wheels to cast wheels from other Ducs. You can find a bunch of threads on this with a quick search.

Here is what Alpina has to offer

Many other color combinations are available
Brake caliper options are
Stock, Brembo 4p4p and 4p2p
and the Discacciati Billet Calipers

Installation is very easy as t is the same specs as the stock wheel

Sport Classic Wheels, Rear Brakes, Stock Mufflers, Dart Flyscreen

Even upgrading to the Sport 1000 Aluminum hoops would save weight over the chrome steel anchors on the stock GT.

Gives some weight savings for the cheapest price; plug-n-play.

Some other Duc model rims can fit, will need shims and rotors or matching brakes. Several threads on this. Better weight savings, but some homework to get all the correct parts and shins to fit.

After that it all depends on your budget, the lightest wheels will run 1.5k and goes up from there. Back to plug-n-play and greatest weight savings. "You get what you pay for."

While you certainly can get the wheels off a Sport or PS, I would suggest saving up and finding some tubeless solution. You get the Sport wheels, you'll just be wanting to find tubeless ones and have already spent money on the ones you got. I always say it's better to buy what you really want once (which sometimes means saving up for a bit) than buy the halfway step now and plan on upgrading later.

This is the lighter alloy stock wheel
If you are in Canada it would be good
I'm thinking the shipping cost would be crazy to the USA
