This is the best news I've heard today, Few questions...
Does the tank come painted ? and does it use original bracket mounts or the new updated bracket Mounts ? Thank you.

For me, I don't care if it is painted or not, as long as it is a direct bolt on for my bike, and maintains the original shape.
If it is a new shape, and new brackets have to be made etc etc etc.....then I am not interested. I like the original shape. It is part of what makes it a sport classic.

These guys are flooding the board \ reviving ancient threads with a hard-sell approach....makes me uncomfortable.
Meanwhile I agree with JC .
In addition this has got me considering getting this done locally in conjuction with JC. AS you all know I have some pretty good contacts here in fabrication so I made a call today to my friend who takes my designs to digital & does my 3D scanning and printing \ prototyping (remember the intake manifolds, sprocket cover I did ? ) We have a contact with a Canadian aircraft manufacturer so I will be going out to consult with them in early Jan .
I cant make any promises here but my goal, thru JC would be to come up with a stock replica either in alum or steel (as suggested by JC) . Made in Canada\USA at an affordable price. Something that , if produced would allow you peace of mind .
In the meantime dont be too hasty to jump into anything.
I do this out of principal.
Stephano

I am happy to support anyone that is willing to try and make the alloy tanks, whether it be in India, USA, Canada or anywhere else.
It is a shame that it has taken the 'threat' of someone willing to make them in India, to get others to pull their fingers out and get the ball rolling.
Good luck to whoever attempts to make these tanks.

If done properly I would agree
Right now it just seems to be a lot of noise and a free for all

Nothing to do with 'threat' . I was doing one for my SC anyhow. Having said that I have been around this business a long time and do care where things are made particularly in this economy. I dont want to get politics going again here but its too bad everyone doesnt feel & practice likewise ..things might be a lot different now.
You are in Australia so maybe it doesnt matter to you as most things are imported and thats o.k. . Given the choice I would much rather get something from a guy 15 miles up the road than India or China (wouldn't you?). I understand it is almost impossible to avoid products out of the 3rd world but I do my best. Almost every non-stock piece of my bikes are done locally or in the USA.
Buying "local" with many products is important to a good portion of the population here and its a movement that is growing and I support for the good of my fellow Canadians & brother Americans.
This post does not require a reply from anyone. I dont want to start another back & forth debate here. Just think about what I am saying.
