Red '07 GT
I bought my '07 red GT with 11k miles 4 months ago for $6k in Portland. It had Termi's, windshield, saddlebags, with dealer service records (including a belt change), and good tires.
I think I got a good deal, but this bike has way more mods, maybe $7.5k +/- a bit.
It's hard to price in the mods, but the Termi's were huge to me. I knew if the bike had them it would save me big coin since I knew I would buy them anyway ($1k+, hard to find used).
The guy started out asking $7.5k for my bike. I just kept checking the CL ad and he dropped his price every few weeks.
Good Luck, I think more people realize now that the SC line has quite a bit of "character," and that lack of production has begun to stabilize prices.

When I was looking over the past few months, 1000Ss seemed to get listed around $7000-7500. That was stock or with termis as the only mods. Now they generally got snapped up fast at that price, but it also depends on the location. Eg, I saw one on the Tulsa craigslist up for several weeks and the price drop to $7k, while one here in CA went up for $7800 and was gone within a day. If you can get it for under $8k that's good I'd say. Dunno if it helps provide some reference, but the 2008 bip I recently bought with no mods and 2800 miles was $6600 and I considered that a deal.

Guys - looks like $8k or so is the highest you think a fair price would be. Sure, maybe a lot of prospective buyers don't care about most of the bling this one has, but wouldn't demand vs. scarcity and the wheels make $9k seem like a fair price?

Honestly with the somewhat rare nature of these bikes, getting one at any price you feel comfortable with is a good deal. Certainly the mods can add to the value for some, for myself though I set a price I felt good with and waited for the bike that fit it to come up. Mods didn't change what I was willing to pay to own one, but I was willing to wait.

Interesting. What I have seen come up is most GTs are listed in 7-8K range, sport 1000 in 8-9k and 1000s in 8-10k. I have seen a few Paul Smarts in 12-14k range with one even asking for 16k. This particular one is listed at 10k.
Of course, all these are listed prices in the last month or so I have been looking and seem to be higher than what others seem to have paid earlier. I can wait as well but I am trying to get a sense of what is fair as these bikes do not follow any traditional pricing guidelines being discontinued.
Also, what are the chances that Ducati will revive the Sportclassic line in the future?

That's interesting about the 1000Ss, when I was looking over the past few months, between September and November I saw 4 or 5 red ones come up in various spots across the country in the $7k range. I almost went for one of them but decided I wanted a non-S instead.
On that Reddit thread about the GT accident a couple weeks ago, the original poster at one point said he had heard a completely unsubstantiated rumor that Ducati would be doing a similar bike to the SC in 2014, but he never responded to my query for a source, so I'm skeptical about how real that is. Anyone else heard anything like that?

As a guy who already has one and wants them to appreciate in value, I hope they don't! But if they do, I think it'd be quite a few years down the road since their market share continues to grow even without the SCs.
Still, a lot of people have been saying for years that the retro craze is over, yet brands still offering retro-themed bikes seem to be doing reasonably well with them. So who knows - maybe Ducati will revive them soon "due to popular demand". Stranger things have happened.

Well, if you are located in the Northern part of the US, this is a great time to buy. Good Luck! I think you're going to be really happy if you are able to purchase.
