Bay Area dealer recommendation
So it looks like the tank on my recently acquired bike has spread pretty good (the rubber mounts are out of the brackets by about 2cm on each side. I get the impression that it was sitting idle for a while before I got it). Looking for recommendations for which dealer in the bay area is friendliest to deal with. I live in Marin, but Hattar isn't really looking good, as I've heard some pretty negative impressions of their service department, and when I've visited there before I've felt like unless I have 20 grand to drop on a bike no one is interested in talking to me at all.

Ace Motorsports.
I'm from Sacramento and after trying my local duo of dealers I then tried these guys. They responded very quickly after sending pictures of my spread via email and got me approved with DNA pronto.
They have a sharp staff as well, I highly recommend them.

Munroe is in S.F., don't know much about them but they were friendly when I went in there when I was in town and swung through. I'm sure that you could ask around here about them.

I've queried Munroe about this very issue, despite the fact that I've had no issues w/ tank spread. My experience w/ them has been nothing but good, however, they seemed reluctant to go the distance w/ the tank spread issue. I could be wrong. Definitely worth giving them a call and explaining the issue.
That said, I've heard very good things about Ace from several different folks.
I would also say that my experience w/ Hattar has been mixed. Some very good, some bordering on negligent.
When it comes to service, Desmotosport in SF is the no-brainer. It's personal, they do very good work, and they keep costs reasonable. Oh, and they're open on Monday.
Good luck!

+1. Sure, I'm not a Bay Area SC owner and have never played one on TV. But what redhotkings24 says suggests Ace is both customer service oriented AND in good standing with DNA. If you look at the gamut of experiences people here have had with tank exchanges, you can see how these two factors can really make a difference.

Another vote for Ace. On tank #3 now, each time replaced with no hassle through them. For my current tank, they let me pick it up, still in the box, to have coated before they installed it. They now offer the service of sending your tank to the same guy JC uses for coating, if you so choose.

i have had good experiences with Munroe, even with handling the tank issue. they can be a bit overwhelmed at times too busy, but patience and good humor has always given me good results in the end. give dave a call.
good luck
