Vintage-style full-face.
I remember reading about someone who's looking for a vintage looking full-face helmet to match the Sport Classic style.
Well, here's what I just found yesterday in a local shop:
How can you go wrong with a bad-ass Simpson Bandit copy for under $100???
Now it all seriousness, this helmet is light, fits great, it's DOT and ECE certified and seems pretty well made to boot. And you can wear it for Halloween too!
Kris
(The logo needs to go, I think I'll just put some racing stripes over it )

I'll bet it's a nicer helmet than the original. I had a Bandit back in the day...that helmet sucked - heavy, noisy, drafty and heavy.
I traded it for a Bell Star with a friend of mine.

Well...
Helmets work by transmitting energy and redirecting the impact to someplace other than your skull. That said, a cheap polycarbonate lid will actually bounce on impact like a hard ball, transferring the impact energy (most likely) to your neck. A higher quality fiberglass or laminate type lid will crush on impact and the resulting energy is absorbed by the helmet shell.
That's why kids helmets are cheap poly because they crash at slow speeds and higher quality brain buckets must be thrown away after a significant crash. Did you really think the paint job is why an Arai costs $600?
Hope I didn't offend you but I probably just saved your life. $10 helmet for a $10 head.
My 2 cents...

No offence taken, although the bit about saving my life was a bit much...
FYI my post was not intended to start a "why the hell do arai helmets cost so much money?" debate.
Please, don't... two newbs starting a pissing match on an established forum is just not right.
The way I see it you can go ahead and feel great about the choices you make. I sleep well at night too, so there, we are both happy - me with my $10 head and you with yours worth a whopping $600 american dollars (which is not that much these days anyway)

Whats up homeboy?
Where did you get it? Whats' the Logo on the front ? Never saw it before. I had a hard time finding Simpson...had to go down to Skagit Powersports in Burlington WA to get one...
I have 2 Simpson Helmets ...1 - 1980- Carbon fibre Simpson Bandit & 1 - 2010 Simpson Bandit Carbon Fibre.
If your helmet is a Simpson its a quality helmet....not really intended for motorcycle use... but Simpson is the helmet of choice for many car guys in drag racing.......
I since also picked up the new Bell Star which is hands down the best helmet I have ever worn......
AS far as noise goes with helmets I could care less....as long as i'm protected... if I want quiet I ride in my car....

It's not a Simpson - it's just styled to look like one.
2-nd gear in Coquitlam has them. I bought it mainly for looks, it will look good in my garage and when I go get coffee from the nearest Starbucks
To tell you the truth I'm not really a fan of cheap full-face helmets either, I prefer an open face Bell 500 . But this thing looks like a million bucks to me and I don't care what anyone says.
I know, I am going to die a horrible death.

Interesting that they have designated summer and winter helmets.
