spoked wheels tubeless
ladies and gents,
i just bought a set of used spoked alloy wheels to achieve a more vintage look again. the marchesinis will stay for trackdays. only bummer now is more weight resulting in bigger rotating masses.
from memory i´d say there is after market options out there to get the nipples sealed to get rid of the tubes. others (i remember dietrich) sealed the inlay with some sort of compound. the mechanic i bought the mono swing arm off told me he just taped the nipples with some sort of gaffa tape...
I´m not sure if that´s what i´m after since i plan on touring even more than before and don´t like the idea being stranded in the middle of nowhere...
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I believe this subject has been beat to death, some say it can be done others say no way some even did it,some worked some failed.my understanding is alpinas are the way to go,but pricey just to go from spokes to spokes.

the alpinas also let you go to the 4p/4p brakes without issue...so you lose a little weight (a lot if you are on the GT), and get the option for better brakes. plus custom colors....i used every excuse to justify the beauties...

Do a "tubeless" search on this forum. Chuckracer has a good thread.

lol!
You are right; I can hardly ride down the street with my heavy inner tubes in place. Are you kidding me?
Now if you want to talk about the hassle of getting a flat tube in the middle of the desert then maybe you have a point…. Otherwise get out of your own head, and back on your bike. Save you money for entry fees & beer.

thanks to all,
i did exactly a search for tubeless before posting, no chuckracer thread ..i was aware this has been discussed over and over again...was just hoping some new products had been brought up recently...
since i became dad once more a euro is only worth 50ct these days anymore...
got the wheels for a quite reasonable price, will have to stick to them...
would love to go out for a ride soon, only prob seems the now landed winter in this part of the world.. but maybe it´s just my growing winter depression

Although the sun is shining this week…
And i don't even have the energy to mount my brake salad…

Tubeless
As a follow-up, it's winter here now and I've got a season (another 13,000 miles) under my belt with the tubeless conversion...it works perfectly.
