I saw that one too. Did you notice the chain? Third pic from the bottom. The rust on that thing is horrible! Wonder if this sat outside its whole life.

It is a gold chain, and no, you are not an idiot.

I don't know...that looks like a rusty chain to me. Figure less than 700 miles with stock tires on a 2007 vehicle, would make perfect sense to me.

Could be a gold chain that's either dirty or rusty, but hard to tell from the photo.
Does look like lots of chain lube overspray on the rear hub. Possibly not the best-maintained bike out there...

It actually looks rather clean to me. That chain looks like gold rather than rust, and I didn't see any overspray on the hub. Also apart from the paint flaking at the reservoirs, I didn't see any cosmetic damage... Unless that one blurry picture of the tank is a scratch. Could be a crash, drop situation. Good buy for someone who has been searching for a GT 1000.

I think it looks like a rusty chain too, but whatever. It probably wasn't lubed properly and sat around, chains will do that in the garage too.

I couldn't make the chain pic out too good, but the rear wheel pics show definite rust. So count me in the rusty chain crowd.
Did anyone notice the clocks looked scratched and pitted, and the clutch and brake reservoirs paint was flaking (from fluid spills?).
Anyway, sad to see a bike with so few miles in such bad cosmetic shape. Definitely not worth $7k IMO.

I think the gauges are okay. It's amazing how bad chrome & glass will look when a flash picture is take of it close-up. The tiniest spec of dust and imperfection gets grossly magnified.
The person posted that the damage was due to moving.
