Only 12 hours till Cafe Racer ownership....

My R1200GS is history - fellow named Jim (in the first pic) flew in from NM today and is driving that baby home tonight/tomorrow.... A short love affair it was, but the memories will last forever....

Meanwhile, I'm a little more than twelve hours away from picking up my sexy black Sport 1000 - a new companion for the S4R!

In seven short months, I have transformed myself from a BMW slut to a Ducati slut.....

Hmmm........ is that progess????

Yep, I think you're right, and I'm confident there's another BMW in my future...

Of course, if it's soon, there is divorce court to worry about too....

Ducknut

What a coincidence, I have a 2005 GS1200 non-ABS that I am looking to trade for a new duck. What did you get for your beemer? I only have 2800 miles on mine but the snottsdale dealer where I bought it offered me just $7800 for a trade -in towards a 999R. Rennaissance in Tucson offered me $9k sight unseen. Guess who I buy my next bike from!

BMWs and Ducatis are so different, but I've often observed that their owners are much alike.

Atypical (as are the bikes).

Non-faddish.

Serious and capable riders.

And (how to best say this?) ...having a bit more 'in the helmet' than the average motorcyclist.

Congrats! I can relate to the feeling, seeing as I'm within 20 hours of PS1000 bliss! Yay!

Advertise your bike here:

http://www.ibmwr.org/market/

The local BMW dealer offered me $10K for my GS (with ABS) - this would have been a cash deal and trade thru the DUC place (trade it at the Duc place - sold to the BMW place by the Duc dealer). But, I knew I could do much better.

I priced mine at $12,500 and sold it to the first caller (which kinda sucks - I think I underpriced it a bit! ) I had three cash buyers within the first 24 hours... Mine had 6700 miles, ABS, BMW luggage. Jim, the guy that bought mine, flew in from NM.

Try the site, but price it on the high side..... you never know - these bikes have their fanatical following... and there aren't a lot of them out there. Good luck.
