Call me old-school, but if one is intending to head out on a cross-continent jaunt like that, I'm thinking low-tech, not ultra-mega-refined-high-tech.
Matter of fact, just to be able to make small-to-medium repairs might be a bit daunting with this techno-machine.
I'm wondering if possibly our current crop may not prove to be the "sweet spot" technology wise.....
Sometimes I just long for the simpler days.....<sigh>
