New guy service question

I'm looking at buying a really clean 2005 DS1000 with 3,000 mi on the clock.
Is there really any difference between this bike and models from 2007 which require 50% less service ? Can I simply follow the new service guides on this machine ?

I'd say it is a marketing joke with "50% less maintenance", they didn't
change too much at that time, only stating they were now "cleaning
the cases before assembly" - a shame after all those years.

stick to your owners manual and you'll be fine.
get am experieced ducati mechanic in your area,
he will tell you how often he would like to meet you.

welcome to the board.

the big change was when they went to bi-metallic valves,1997.

you can tell a lot about someone by how they react to a large heavy object falling on them
