gold frame paint match?

I have a 98 with the gold/champagne/whatever colored frame and it has the standard battery acid black marks. Has anyone found a paint match, or another fix that doesn't involve dissassembly, powdercoating, crappy Krylon touch.

these (german ) company sells various ducati
paints, you may find the gold on page two of
their ducati variety, sold as 2k paint, in rattle
cans, or in little paint sticks for spot repair.

What type of paint is it? If no good match so far whats best option anyone has seen for totally repainting the frame with a near original color?

No way to powder coat with that kind of gold color is there?

Or limited to Muschi's company and buying several rattle cans of it?

oh lord - please don't let me be misunderstood

they sell:

- the paint in standard 2k cans ( paint and hardener )
- the paint in a 1k rattle can application
- little sticks for touch up repairs

Good to hear they have it in two part paint hardener. This bike will stay some what stock. Its the SS parts bike I bought that will be a project build colors and frame choices will be limitless there!

Ohh thats funny I just reread your original post.... Didn't know thats what 2k stood for!

Some dealerships used to sell "paint sticks", pen applicators in the factory colors. Has anyone seen these lately?

Cheers

contact Color Rite

Last year I contacted Color Rite because I wanted the gold frame paint for my 95 916. No problem, I bought the paint pen. However, at the same time I sold the bike. After the bike was gone the paint came in so I posted the paint here and sold it.

Autozine Dupli-Color Gold Code OSGM 491
Sand lightly with a Scotch pad to get a matching finish.
