heated grips
Anyone using heated grips on your supersport? I was wondering how well they work below 40f with the minimal wind coverage the supersports provide for the hands. I have Widder elec gloves that keep my hands nice & toasty but they are waaay too bulky. thx

on my monster i had the $25 kit from aerostich. high setting was too high so i got a heat troller for it.
with my ss i think i'm gonna get polly heaters as they go in bar instead of stick on the outside.

I have Widder gloves but they are way too bulky for me. No feel for the throttle so I thought grip warmers with my Helds would be better.

I have the same problem with the original Gerbing's gloves. Last year I got the Gerbing G3's - much tighter fitting and much better. Like a regular glove.
Also, there's another brand that recently came out (can't think of name) that has better knuckle protection.

I tried a set and the right one was noticably warmer than the left (right is on the plastic throttle twistie, left directly on the metal bar.)
I prefer gloves.

Oh great, now I'll have to sell off my Widder stuff to go with Gerbings!
Gerbing's web site is whacked. Just logged on and it's coming up in a text format and doesn't let you navigate anywhere. I'll try again tonight at home.

this issue is solved easily. you need to put 1 layer of duct tape under the heating element on the bar. this helps even out the heat. there's also a kit made by dual star or something that is "supposed to" even out the heating by having more lines on left grip. don't have experience with these, but i've heard they don't run as hot as the aerostich kit...which after some research turns out they are made for snowmobiles and atv...which explains (to me) why they go so darn hot on the high setting.

Gents, I'm tellin ya, Warm N Safe Ultimate Rider's gloves are the way to go. Much better on all fronts, IMO, than G3s. Better looking, better heat, better protection, better comfort. I've used everything out there. They even have em waterproof.
If you're interested I set up a group buy for them in the spring which is still valid. Let me know and I'll post details.
Ed, if you want, I can try to meet up w.you this wkend if you're riding and you can check em out.
